Location

Melyd House is situated in the village of Meliden just one mile from the market town of Prestatyn. We are just forty minutes from the city of Chester and forty minutes from the picturesque Snowdonia National Park. Liverpool and Manchester airports are within easy travelling distance with good motorway links.

Walks and Trails
There are many walks easily accessible from Melyd House including the famous Offas Dyke (which is right on our doorstep) and beautiful coastal walks along the beaches of Prestatyn and Talacre. Visitors are welcome to borrow books or leaflets, which highlight the different trails available to our guests.

Cycling
Cyclists will enjoy some of the challenging tracks that North Wales has to offer. Not only is the National Cycle Way just a short distance from Melyd House, but there are also many varied and exciting trails just a short drive away.

Golf
There are three golf courses within easy reach of Melyd House. St.Melyd (Melyd House overlooks the fourth green) is a challenging 9-hole course with spectacular views across the Irish Sea. Prestatyn Golf Club is an 18 Hole Championship Links course, and Rhuddlan is an 18 hole parkland course. We have agreed special rates for our guests at the above mentioned courses and also at three other excellent courses within a short distance of Meliden.

A beautiful 13th Century Church, mentioned in The Doomsday Book, set in the village of Meliden. (Just down the road!)

Prestatyn
A friendly holiday town offering attractions for both adults and children including three sandy beaches. (5 minutes drive.)
Fishing
Charter fishing trips from Rhyl. (15 minutes drive.) Trout fishing at Llyn Brenig (45 minutes.) Abundance of shore angling in the area. Advice, bait and tackle available locally.
Snowdon
The highest mountain in Wales. Stunning scenery. (60 minutes drive away.)
Anglesey
Let us direct you to some secluded sandy beaches. (45 minutes drive away.)
Historic Castles
Visit the magnificent 11th Century Welsh Castle located at Conwy. (30 minutes drive.) Also worth a visit is Caernarfon and nearby Rhuddlan.
Chester
An historic city with links to Roman times. Excellent shopping facilities that can be accessed from the world famous Rows - a covered pedestrian area that dates back to the time of Elizabeth I.
Llandudno
A Victorian holiday resort with a wonderfully preserved pier. (30 minutes drive.)
Indoor Bowls
The David Bryant Bowling Centre. (5 minutes drive.)
Melyd House is just fifteen minutes drive from the recently opened P&O Irish Ferry Terminal at Mostyn.
